Office Systems of Texas staff and guests enjoyed as always, the informative, educational; Woodlands Economic Conference Friday February 8th 2019. This event does a great job of providing a look back, a look at present, and a look toward the future for the community. It is an excellent event to join to learn what actions are taking place behind the scenes, and what the community key drivers are and how we, as individuals, and local businesses can help the area continue to prosper. This year, our company donated our display table to an organization that is close to our hearts – Interfaith of The Woodlands, a non-profit social service agency that provides family, child, work, and senior programs and services in The Woodlands. This agency has been serving The Woodlands community, since 1973 – its success largely contributed to individual and business volunteers contributions. Our desire for Interfaith is that they continue to grow and prosper as our community continues to flourish.
Two of my personal take always came from the round table discussion; Gill Staley asked the panel of speakers, Sallie Ranier, President and CEO of Entergy Texas, Paul H Layne President, Central Region The Howard Hughes Corporation and Charles “Chuck” Stokes, President and CEO of Memorial Herman Health System, what advise they would give to other individuals and business, to help them achieve the same level of success.
Paul Layne – in business, always have and build upon succession planning; what is working now, who is working it and who will be carrying on in the future. Also, operate with integrity.
Sallie Ranier – to be uncomfortable, to be on edge in your current position. Being comfortable isn’t challenging, it doesn’t allow growth and development.
Chuck Stokes – to make bold, calculated risks. To be a lifetime learner and to always give back.
