Ricoh devices have another security issue

  • Announced that some of its A4 printers and MFPs are impacted by the recently discovered NAME:WRECK security vulnerabilities
  • Could allow a remote hacker to trigger an information leak
  • Relates to issue with third party software that Ricoh uses to manage the TCP/IP stack in the devices
  • Ricoh warns that if not addressed:
    • Device stall
    • Memory destruction
    • Network failure
    • Information leak
    • Springboard attacks
  • Plans on releasing a firmware fix in near future
