October, My favorite month! Why? Because so many things happen in October such as my Birthday, my Daughter’s Birthday, Halloween, cooler weather, Pumpkin pies, and SO many other reasons. October if a fun time and the start of my favorite season of the year…. HallowTurkeyChristmasNewYear, yea, that is a made up name…but its all fun from here on until the beginning of the new year. What is so important in October, well let’s start,  It’s the 10th month of the Julian and Gregorian calendars, it’s when most people in Texas start feeling and seeing a change in temperature and climate from The Texas heat to the Texas not as Hot season. There are many things celebrated in October, like I stated before, My Birthday and My Daughter’s Birthday are celebrated in our home, but also It’s Brest Cancer Awareness Month, International Walk to School Month, National Pizza, Popcorn Popping, Pork and seafood Month, NO I’m NOT making this stuff up…look it up…. Here in Texas … and Florida…. We celebrate National Night Out, where we go out and meet out neighbors and our First Responders, Columbus day is in October, World Animal Day, World Space Week, Sputnik was launched on October 4th 1957, National Cat Day, National Navy Day, International Animation day, Octoberfest, Day of The dead, and of course….HALLOWEEN! Where you can dress up as anything you want, from fun to scary to nice and even raunchy things. And go get CANDY!!!!!!

Here are some October did you know…. More US Presidents have been born in October than any other month. Texas A&M Opened on October 4th 1876. Stanford University opened in October 1891.  As stated before, Sputnik 1 was launched. The Walt Disney Company was founded in 1923. DisneyWorld opened in 1971. Epcot opened in 1982. Space Shuttle Atlantis’ maiden Voyage. Anaheim Ca was founded. Love Me Do, the Beatles’ first single was released.  According to the Jewish calendar and beliefs, the first day of creation is in October. Pioneer 1 was launched, the first lunar prob in 1958. Winnie the Pooh was first published. Cpt. Chuck Yeager flew the Bell X-1 faster than the speed of sound. In 1620, the Mayflower landed on Plymouth Rock. Moby Dick was first published. Cornwallis surrendered to George Washington in 1781. Sam Houston became the first President of TEXAS in 1836. The Gun fight at the OK Corral took place in 1881. In 1492, Columbus discovered America…Cuba. Jackie Robinson sign with the Dodgers. And so much more, well now that I’ve bored you… enjoy October and the start of HallowTurkeyChristmasNewYear…
