The Crime Stoppers Annual Awards Luncheon, hosted at the Hotel ZaZa, honors individuals and organizations who have given exemplary service to make Houston a safer place to live, work, learn and play. Each year, four awards are given to our community leaders in crime prevention.
Eligible candidates are persons working in the criminal justice system that have made a significant contribution to fighting crime. Prior recipients include the Gulf Coast Violent Offender’s Task Force, the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force, Sheriff Adrian Garcia, Sgt. Michael Ellison and Judge Marc Carter.
Any citizen who has made a significant contribution to fighting crime is eligible. Past recipients include Johnny Holmes, Dave Ward, Jack Loftis, Ted Wilson, Comcast, Dr. Jean DeWitt and Kristi Schiller.
Any citizen who has made a significant contribution to public safety as a volunteer is eligible for this award. Past recipients include Stan Crane, Sam Irick and Family, Pastor James Nash and Andy Kahan.
